ABOUT US
Promoting Health & Wellbeing
Inspired by schools of thought such as, Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kun Do, The P.I.T. is geared up to more of a martial training concept than a fixed martial art system. Created from both military and civilian training, Physical Intensive Training is centered on the development of skills in hand-to-hand fighting, weapons, and any other areas of knowledge needed to survive in an emergency or life-threatening situation.
The pace of the world is changing and the active pursuit of knowledge is the only way to ensure that training is relevant, and responsive to the needs of the times. The P.I.T. training is not intended or limited to any one way of thinking , more of a well-rounded fighter.
Martial arts and self-defense practice will require sensitivity to a number of cultural & societal variables and changes. Training to defend oneself should not solely be concerned with physical techniques, but also areas of self-preservation in an environmental & situational awareness.
The chosen profession, living condition, military status or degree of responsibility facing a martial arts practitioner, can have a huge impact on the style and application of training. The P.I.T. training should attempt to prepare the practitioner for the general set of risks and situations likely to be faced in daily life.
Our training requires an open-minded approach so P.I.T. practitioners should not be limited to any one way, school of thought or particular discipline. Physical Intensive Training practitioners should embrace the inherent values found in any style or discipline. Training is meant to be organic and natural so that it can remain current and relevant to the circumstances in which it is being applied for.
The P.I.T. does recognize certain common elements found in many martial disciplines. It is from these commonalities that the P.I.T. attempts to distill the main components of its training. As new lessons & practices are added to the curriculum of a P.I.T. practitioner, they can be measured against a set of core principles that integrate into the scope of that person’s Physical Intensive Training. For that reason, P.I.T. holds certain “Core Principles” in mind while approaching martial arts training.
If you're looking to gain practical self-defense skills that will build greater confidence and discipline along with a philosophy that will prove useful throughout your life then you have come to the right place.
It is our goal to be totally committed to your personal growth and to provide you with one of the most effective self-defense programs in the Bay Area.
Briefly What We Aren't:
First of all there are NO contracts. We don't believe in making students financial prisoners. Either you want to train with us or not...just that simple.
We do have a ranking system but what we will be discussed once you have entered and joined the school.
We do NOT cater to sport fighting, however that does not mean we don't want you to enter them or train for them. That option is yours to decide.
Sport fighting is designed for a controlled environment between 2 individuals. On the street one probably will encounter multiple foes without the benefit of rules, a padded mat, or referee. Remember this...Concrete is unforgiving!
The P.I.T. - offers students the chance to train in this practical, real-world system of self-protection. Designed for military units that do not have the luxury of years to learn how to fight. The systems that we offer provide the whole spectrum of self-protection techniques and make them quickly available to students in both military and civilian entities.
